The Broker - What It Is
Tab Trade launched in Q1 2026. Online broker based in Saint Lucia, licensed through Saint Lucia's FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, a well-known broker.
That last detail matters. It suggests the founder is not figuring it out from scratch. That is not a guarantee. Still preferable to a founder with no industry background.
TabTrade came out of the gate with execution through Equinix servers. Same infrastructure banks and hedge funds use. The typical new launch focuses on ads and sign-up promos. These guys led with infrastructure. Unusual for a new broker.
The instrument list: forex, indices, metals, commodities, shares, crypto, exchange-traded funds. A wide spread. For a broker that launched in March 2026, the breadth is not narrow.
The Software
Available: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a WebTrader. Both MT5 and cTrader from one account. Many commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Access to both makes a difference. Pick what suits your style.
MT5 is the industry standard. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, tons of scripts and indicators. If you know MT4 or MT5 previously, it is familiar territory.
cTrader is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Faster charting. Built-in algo trading. A lot of traders like it better than MT5 after using both.
FIX API is offered for algo traders but requires the VIP tier ($25,000 to open). TradingView is said to be in the works. That would make the platform set when it lands.
What You Pay
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. 1.0 pip spreads. Zero commission. Straightforward. No minimum deposit. Works for beginners.
Edge account. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips average. Commission of $3.50 each way. All-in: raw spread plus $7 per full lot. On EUR/USD, the actual interbank spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. So your all-in cost can sit under half a pip. That is hard to beat for a broker with no minimum deposit. Most brokers that run raw pricing at this level want $500 or more to open. This broker does not.
VIP. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, tailored rates. Not something the average person. Do not worry about it unless you run serious volume.
How Fast Are the Fills
The execution is the area where this broker stands apart. Equinix LD4/LD5. Sub-30ms execution on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are proper execution targets. The average platform run a much wider range.
Should you care? If you trade small timeframes, it does. The difference between fast execution and sluggish execution is catching the move or missing it. If you trade higher timeframes, you probably will not feel it. What matters is they invested in proper execution. That signals what kind of broker this is.
Pair those fill times with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and the total package holds up. Hardly anyone in this bracket have infrastructure at this level.
Regulation
This is the detail that requires honesty. Tab Trade is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is tier-3. No FCA. No fund protection scheme. If operating without FCA or ASIC oversight makes you uncomfortable, stop reading. There are FCA-regulated options out there.
However. The person running it came from BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The execution setup is not cheap. Dodgy operations do not pay for tier-1 data centre access. That does not make it safe. It should factor into your decision.
The trade-off: no FCA or ASIC safety net. For that: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, no minimum deposit, fast fills. Whether that makes sense comes down to your priorities.
Deposit Bonus
